The literature community is just a large circle of cliques, you know? Haha. I've kind of figured out who is going to feature who by now, or who is going to refer who for a feature or a journal article dedicated to them. I think because a lot of us just watch the same people in the literature community, we see a lot of the same deviants showing up. So for the most part I usually try to watch people that I see watch me (as a lot of them are lesser known writers) because it adds some variety!

That is also sort of my issue with DLDs, a lot of the same people suggest DLDs so you usually see people they follow most of the time, and when those suggesters keep suggesting the same person multiple times, we see them featured more. If we have more people willing to suggest pieces we may see some variety.

I know exactly what you mean. (Sometimes I feel a bit left out of those :ohnoes: ) It's natural that we all watch a lot of the same people, simply because they're good writers, but it bugs me that we feel the need to feature them over and over. Okay maybe that sounds a bit rude but haven't they already got all the popularity and comments that they need? I just wish that people would try to branch out and check out new writers, who may be just as good as the popular ones. That's what I'm trying to do with my features, where I never feature the same person twice.

I actually find a lot of new writers with DLD, I think it's in personal journals that I see people cropping up over and over again :shrug:

Like I mentioned to you regarding a feature of mine sometime ago, as much as I'd love to feature new artists, I believe in featuring solid, quality pieces too and so it's always a struggle finding that right mix. :heart:
In doing my features I have found that the best balance for me is to include in every feature a blend of both dearly loved and new, raw talents. My (sneaky) secret belief is that by featuring well-known artists with the less-known, you can further pimp them off each other through the fans and watchers, too. :giggle:

I think that, always, a certain quality of work should be presented. There are often high-quality writers who are known for producing good work, so they get featured more. In the same way I'm sure some features are a little unnecessarily heavy on specific people, I'm sure there are also some lesser known people who simply don't write as well. But, I think everyone can agree, there are writers on this site just starting out who have amazing talent but do not know how to share it.
